"It has been an, at times hard, but incredible journey and I have learned a lot about myself."
Yesterday I completed my first (and likely last) Ironman 70.3! It has been an, at times hard, but incredible journey and I have learned a lot about myself. Namely don’t sign up to things when you’re really hungover and think you should be doing more with your life, but mostly what can be achieved with dedication, perseverance and the support of an incredible coaching team James Isaac Jack Forster.
You guys put together an epic (in every sense) training programme for me that was absolutely spot on and I don’t think I could have felt better prepared. But I also want to thank you for all the stuff that you can’t measure on a garmin. Your patience and tolerance (particularly concerning my hatred of running and my love of Charlie’s Chicken), always being at the end of a phone to answer my many, many questions and believing in me even when I felt overwhelmed by it all.
So a massive thank you to you both. I couldn’t have done it without you. Now, what’s next?…
